Thursday 25th July

It's always good to see a hard grafter who is in the doldrums refind the form of which we know he's capable and the signs have been there for a few weeks, so great to see our Northern Expert fire in a 16/1 SP winner with Swinging Eddie and a 12/1 SP place with Redrosezorro at Catterick yesterday. We didn't have such good results at a foggy Wexford, and it's equally important to reflect on the fact that whilst our Irish Tipster have been in excellent form for a sustained period, that all Tipsters, like anyone else, have quieter spells. Temptationinmilan paid 18/1 SP for an enhanced place and Ardagh's Choice delivered a solid place, but we will give Sean and Michael a quieter few days now, to recharge their batteries ready for Galway next week.

There is action today at Doncaster, Sandown and Newbury on the Flat, Worcester over the Jumps and at Leopardstown and Wexford in Ireland. We also have The Racing League starting at Yarmouth tonight. As a concept, whilst appreciating the effort and attempt to try something new, I just don't think a "team concept" has ever worked that well in Racing. What you do get though is some Yards being "more invested" in it than others, so we'll keep an eye on it, and won't rule out small investments as we go along.

The tip races today are from Doncaster ; Newbury and Worcester with some speculative selections based on deep analysis.
