Thursday 28th November

We again have very little in terms of competitive action to attack today.

Unusually small fields over in Ireland at Thurles, apart from an 18 runner 2 mile Handicap Hurdle with very little form to go on. Small NH fields at Musselburgh and Lingfield where the non-runners on forecast Heavy ground are already mounting up and some moderately decent Fields at Taunton where on closer analysis races look more than likely to be dominated by the top 2-3 in the respective markets (we looked very closely at the 2.35 and 3.10 races) with little or no win or each way value below prices of around 5/1 in compacted markets and anything at bigger odds frankly would be suggested "on a wing and a prayer".

The Good ground at Thurles somewhat limits the tried and trusted tactic of looking for some heavy ground P2P in the Novice races, although I'm sure that this facet will come into play very soon over there and in the UK in the near future. The Novice races at Lingfield are stacked with NHFlat types and not very many P2P recruits either.

All very frustrating, especially when you consider no AW Fixtures have been scheduled this week.

We will therefore look again tomorrow at Newbury; Doncaster and Thurles. It does seem though that most of the heavy rain fell in the past 5-6 days on Courses we aren't racing on, and all of the ones desperate for some rain are racing this week!!

We have a few TRACKERS but none really jump off the page.
