Barry Nicholls - Catterick 3.55 4 Lakefield Rebel 12/1 / 8 Foot The Bill 33/1 - each way

"A race over 26 furlongs Class 4. They say it is Soft ground but the stick readings and looking
back at the last few meetings indicate it could ride a bit worse tan soft and my assessment is
also including the logic that by this race the ground could be really cut up, I hope so as I'll explain.

A few in the field who are fancied are more likely to want Good to Soft and the likes of Proud
Gamble; Black Narcussus and Lord Landen may be want 3 miles and also in the case of Proud
Gamble, seems much better right handed. It is low grade but 2 stand out at nice prices.

LAKEFIELD REBEL deserve a win race before last but rider lost irons and pipped on line;
that run over this trip was an improvement and this could be a mark it has scope to improve
and its also a lightly raced horse; given time, who is fit but fresh, 12/1 looks value.

FOOT THE BILL is 33/1 so grab it, pops up from time to time, usually at Southwell
but has won here, a plodder but in cut up ground may be ridden to stay; has won off
88 and is below that mark, so grab the 33/1 as 9 runners = good place chance.

(My angle on Foot The Bill comes from an ingenious new bit of kit that we are testing
combining various bits of data, It is interesting that FOOT THE BILL
has poor form on Good to Soft to Soft ground, but when you look at Soft to Heavy
the data indicates 6 places in 9 runs; and also good Course and Class form in the
mud of over 50%  place ratio- that makes the 33/1 look real value - so BOG it asap)
