Barry Nicholls - Kelso 1.50 14 Endeavour - each way 9/1
Moving on to Kelso and the booking of Brian Hughes on ENDEAVOUR is another
eye-opener. He rides off 10 stones and 2 pounds; surely near his absolute minimum;
in a race where he could have had a pick of several, that would have allowed him a hearty
breakfast, and where to first glance Endeavour looks very exposed. However, this is a
good Hurdles mark for the 5 time Course winner and a recent run makes this look
like a bit of a "plan". The are some exposed types on seasonal debut and some very
unexposed potentially better horses than Endeavour, but as is the case with Nicky
Richards pair at the top of the weights, they may need a run and in the case of Richards
it was only last week; that I read that some of his horses are "under the weather".
It would be folly to ignore the selection on the basis of the above evidence.
