Bayard - Chepstow 2.25 1 Regal Flow 16/1 (WH/BV) - odds to 4th / Warwick 3.15 1 Leith Hill Legasi 8/1 (WH/BV/Sky) (2x 1 point e/w singles and 1/2 point each way double)
REGAL FLOW catches the eye in the long distance Chase at Chepstow.
The likes of Barton Gift; Loughalder; Financial Climate all tend to winafter Christmas;
as opposed to before and Dr Robin, Farbrega and Kilcullen Flem bring potential but as
yet have really to evidence it on the Course. They will all have chances and support but
looking closely at the race REGAL FLOW stands out off a mark bang on his last winning
mark; conditions should be OK and crucially, he has won second time out in 2014
and 2015 after similar seasonal debut to his recent run. The yard never pitch a horse
in at top weight without feeling confident and the 16/1 with odds to 4th looks very generous.
LEITH HILL LEGASI is taken to run a big race at Warwick. The market will follow the
obvious recent Course form of Yanmere and Copperfacejack and may prove right BUT
both have disappointed more than once, and they may simply have been the best
of a poor bunch a few weeks ago. Leith Hill Legasi is a small but tough mare who loves
to bowl along in front and has an excellent record fresh; the weight is a lot for a small
horse but she has won with similar burdens and a decent Claimer takes a nice claim
off her back. Her form stacks up well with the two market leaders and she could just
stretch them if allowed to have an easy lead or to be running prominently.
