Saturday 11th November

We are always eager to showcase and proof new Tipping talent so David will provide FREE TIPS on a Saturday for the coming weeks

Here are my tips with some brief logic for Saturday's racing:-

Aintree 1.40: WINNINGTRY (5/1) - 1pt e/w

I think that some of these are using this hurdle race as a prep for other targets over fences and, whilst his trainer thinks he will one day make a fine chaser, this is not the case for the selection. The 6 year-old has won or been placed in 6 out of his 7 starts to date with the one exception being last time out, at Newton Abbot, when he was the victim of a very messy start and, clearly, looked in need of the run. He relished the step up in trip when successful at Ayr in April and has a 10lb pull in the weights with the horse who won the race in Devon last time. He has the favourite to beat, in Louis Vac Pouch, who hails from the in-form Hobbs yard but I want to take him on as he still has to prove his stamina over this distance.

Aintree 2.15: VIRGILIO (7/2) - 1pt win

This is a competitive handicap chase and Dan Skelton's inmate just gets my vote. The horse was due to run in last week's Charlie Hall Chase but was taken out on account of the ground and he now tackles this lower grade race. The step back to 2m 4f is a slight worry but it does look like this race will be run at a strong pace and that should suit. The horse is best suited to flat tracks and has a very good record at this venue, winning over both hurdles and fences here. He has gone well fresh in the past and he just got the nod over ON TOUR, who may follow him home and the Irish raider THREE STARS who doesn't look harshly treated based on his novice form.

Wincanton 1.50: JESSBER'S DREAM (14/1) - 1/2pt e/w

After she'd had a successful stint with Harry Fry two seasons ago, Paul Nicholls will be frustrated not to have got a win out of this mare since he took charge of her just over a year ago. After running well in a listed contest at Warwick in February she disappointed badly at Ayr in April. The ground that day may not have suited her, however, and, if the forecast heavy rain arrives, she will be much more suited to the likely testing underfoot conditions she will face in this race. She, also, drops back to a more suitable trip. Her trainer has a fine strike rate at his local track, particularly in hurdles, and the very capable Bryony Frost takes a handy 5lbs off her back.
