The Going here is desperate on The Hurdles Course (better on Chase Course) and a stick reading of 3.8

with more rain showers around, means it will be a test of heart and stamina. The obvious ones are Ardmayle who

runs off a nice mark but even with a 7lbs Claim has a chunk of weight, he may be the one to add to the tips in a

Tricast perm. Chandos Belle has form in these conditions, ran well for a long way over further at Warwick last

time and is very solid, the key question is, can it run as well right handed? and as such no great value. Georgieshore

was impressive over Course and Distance last time here; a 7lbs rise is not an issue on some old form, but the balance

of probability is that it is not on all known evidence a horse to run back to back wins!

HARTSIDE is a horse my colleagues often do; has a usual sporting chance here but I do think that ground this

deep is against it, it may pop up but I will take a chance that the ground will ensure a solid run but not a win today.

My 3 selections are "speculative" it is that type of race. HANDSOME SAM (another regularly done over fences and

much longer trips), the step back to Hurdles means a very nice handicap mark, the step back to this trip is very

intriguing, not an obvious place to come "just for the run"; has decent Hurdles form at 1/2 mile further, but it is a

long old chug up this hill and they could all fall in to a heap in front of him. WHATS UP RORY won over the trip

in soft at Chepstow, so he doesn't mind a slog down a long straight, he is up a straight here but its optimum

trip, he is a specialist at it and runs finally back off his last winning mark. Finally the old rogue KAYF CHARMER

last 2 wins have been off marks of 86 and 91 in soft and heavy; loves a slog in the mud, it slows all the others

down and if on a Going day can and has popped up. The mark here of 91 less a 5lbs Claim is bang on that

winning mark and could generate improvement, will need to but with odds to 4th, there is worse value.
