A fair few of these will need the run on all past evidence and similarly quite a few would not appreciate too much rain.

Your Darling comes from the in-form Ben Pauling yard and is one to follow, Bothwell bridge from the Henderson yard may be well backed as all Henderson runners are here and has a solid chance but may not want it too deep.

 

My pair against the field for small stakes are ESPOIR DE GUYE who is best fresh, a Course and Distance winner, conditions will be no issue whatever they are and it runs off a nice mark. Venetia has made a slow start to the season, doesn't she always, and this is a Fixture where so often in the past she has sprung to life.

 

ZHIGULI for the Gary Moore yard which is a danger anywhere around the M25 is best in heavy conditions, it's got excess stamina for this trip and is another best caught fresh. The handicap mark is a niggle but if it does turn out to be heavy going he cannot be ignored.
