Catterick 1.50
Catterick 1.50 4 Askamore Darsi @ 10/1 / 4 Professor Plum @ 10/1
(1/2 point each way both horses - if you can use SkyBet - odds to 4th place)
A trip of about 25 furlongs, although any moving out of rails will increase it to 26 furlongs or 3 and 1/4 miles;
there are 2 who come up North at the head of the market, who are worthy favourites but not "bomb proof". West Of The Edge
alternates between Chasing and Hurdling but this mark of 119 -7 is a bit above last Hurdle win mark of 107 and I am not convinced
the trip is quite far enough or the Going soft enough. Buckle Street has run the last twice at Cheltenham but a closer look shows;
the furthest it has run is 2 furlongs shorter than this trip, and that was at Worcester, not exactly a track to validate stamina??
The likes of Aramist and the Skelton horse, up a mile in trip are unknowns and of concern, but I narrowed my choice down to 4 more
proven at the trip under these conditions. Tarapino was 3rd last time out and the yard is "flickering" without finding real form; I'm not
sure the price is great value at the moment; but a likely place contender. Lough Salt, I like a lot and hope I don't regret just leaving
out of the tips, won at 3 miles off 105 with today's jockey up and more recently off 114, a mark of 117 should not be a problem, but
I just fancy 2 others a bit more, Lough Salt and Tarapino would be in my Tricast perm.
The two I really like are; ASKAMORE DARSI, has needed first two runs to get fully fit, trip and Going are ideal for it and has won
off marks of 112; 111; 116 and 110 so a familiar lad up off 117-7 claim looks ideal to me. The other one is PROFESSOR PLUM;
I still think the best is to come with this horse and the trip now looks fine for it; runs off a nice mark and marginally prefer it as 2nd
choice over Lough Salt; there are odds to 4th with SkyBet so grab if you can, would have had all 3 if a genuine odds to 4th race
but AD and PP are the tips here
