Cheltenham 1.15
THE ADVISOR - Cheltenham 1.15 Handicap Chase - Class 1 - 2 miles 4 and 1/2 furlongs - 13 run - Good to Soft
The likes of Il Rodito, Excello and Victtorino will be tough to crack, the former a Course specialist and the other pair in form and apparently progressive. I don't think they offer particular value though and there are others that appeal more at a price.
Bill Baxter and Grandeur D'Ame are feared and should run well but there are 3 that stood out for me.
GA LAW comes here over the shorter trip as opposed to going to Doncaster for the Great Yorkshire Chase. The winner of the 2022 Paddy Power Chase here and a truly run race over this trip up the hill I think suits the horse more than 3 miles which just stretches stamina. I'll be very disappointed if not in the first 3 here.
At nice each way odds we have a couple I've been waiting for and hoping they will move to this sort of trip. FRERE D'AMES for the Skeltons is a very unexposed and moves up in trip and I'll again be disappointed if this one is not right in contention, EASY AS THAT may be stable second string in the market but I think the drop back to this trip is a positive and on first run of the season in the 2023 Paddy Power it ran in eye catching style before not quite getting 3 miles plus last time out. I think there is real scope for this one to progress and whatever happens today is the type to watch VERY very closely off a light weight in a Cheltenham Festival Handicap.
