Chepstow 3.50

Chepstow 3.50 Handicap Hurdle - Class 4 - - 2 mils 3 1/2 furlongs - Heavy - 14 run

A similarly competitive Hurdle race.

Bean In Trouble comes from the inform O'Neil yard with junior in the saddle only niggle is the Going. Star Of Rory ran well here last time, best in Heavy and should be a big danger and very competitive. Electron Bleu for Tim Vaughan is a horse who seems to have had niggling problems, French import who will not have any problem with conditions and could out-run Odds, as could the veteran Sirop De Menthe who fell at Ffos Llas over a bit further when coming to challenge on penultimate run and certainly one to have a bit of loose change on if you fancy a solid older horse.

I'm keenest though on STRAIGHT SWOP who won a 3 mile P2P in heavy and made nice progress until being thrown in the deep end in a very good Sandown Handicap last time out. The finishing position did not tell true story as the horse ran prominently for a long way until a couple of jumping errors took its toll. This is an easier assignment and the horse retains potential if not scarred mentally from being in a bit too deep last time out.

I can't leave out a long term Tracker in LAMANVER STORM who has needed a couple of runs but showed significant promise last season and should now be fit enough to capitalise on that promise.

A tough race and competitive but happy with these pair.
