Epsom 8.40

Epsom 8.40 Handicap - Class 6 - 1 mile 4 furlongs - Good to Soft - 14 run

The same weather and Going outlook as for Newbury really and that narrows the choices down considerably.

I narrowed it down to 4 of the 14 runners after considering every option and but for a 206 day break I'd be keen on ESSPEEGEE. One to watch and note. It has won off a 109 day break for it's current Trainer but on the basis of previous experience, it does usually need a run.

Tanglewood Tales looks to have a solid chance for Andrew Balding and would really come into play if the ground firmed up but only becomes a proposition for me if the word "firm" appears in Going description by the time of the race. If it does I will have a small personal investment and wouldn't put you off doing the same.

My pair against the field are MILITARY DECORATION who I really fancy under these conditions tonight. Has had 2 runs so plenty fit and sharp enough now and this is the ideal trip, Going and off a nice handicap mark and a Class drop from 5 to 6 is a confident each way selection.

I think SORAMOND is the biggest danger, Amy Murphy managed to get a hurdle win out of this free running type. If they can just get the horse to settle a little better and run the fractions, it could lead them all a merry dance off the front and hold on down the hill. Very little Course experience in this field and that can suit a front running type who gets a lead and into a nice rhythm.

TIP - MILITARY DECORATION / Tracker - Soramond.
