Hereford 1.10
Hereford 1.10 - Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles 2 furlongs - Class 5 - 12 run - Soft
At the top of the market we have Quivy Lough, Airton and My Moms Posh, all relatively race fit and in form but all of whom would prefer Good ground and who may just have taken their prizes in the past month or so on the prevailing decent Going. All will be big dangers but any softening of the Going especially over an extended 3 miles may go against them.
Jimmy Bell was 4th in this last year, has twice finished 4th off similar breaks to today so cannot be discounted either.
I was left with a pair who are the most interesting in the conditions. SIGN OF WAR has decent form at the trip, clearly at home on soft going, has had a run to help with fitness and Isobel Williams who rides for her dad Evan, has proven many times that she is a talented and considerate horsewoman with the good hands and empathy to excel in this type of race.
At a bigger price the veteran BOHER LAD may be a Good ground performer but has enough good form on soft to think as long as it doesn't get too heavy it can bring proven stamina and fitness in to play in the final stages of the race and run to the line.
TIP - SIGN OF WAR / Tracker - Boher Lad.
