Hereford 3.20
Hereford 3.20 Handicap Chase - Class 4 - 3 miles 1 1/2 furlongs - Good to Soft - 11 run
Another competitive little race where a number have good chances.
At the top end of the market Cuban Pete for Venetia stands out. A winner last time out, tends to run well fresh but although a huge danger the trip here is a niggle for me and if something was upsides down the stretch it could be put in to uncharted waters. A win saver type of horse but not one to dive in to.
Eclaie De Guye is very solid, had a decent run last time and a valid excuse as the saddle slipped but my niggle is that the best runs have been at more quirky tight tracks like Fontwell and Southwell. This is a deceptive right handed galloping track and for that reason, I don't think the price is real value. Elan De Balme for the resurgent Pipe team is the hardest to figure, could frankly be anything but no great evidence at the trip so I'll oppose it.
I'll side with a couple of exposed dour battle hardened Chasers here who both have good form chances off their current marks.
CLONDAW RIGGER is a Course and Distance winner. On its last winning mark, clearly handles the Track, no excuses with the Going and fit enough now to run to that mark. GARRANE is another very solid yardstick; will come on significantly for a nice seasonal debut run and for fear of repeating the theme of the day, a t-shirt horse in the context of the race, been there, got it, done it and no reason why it can't win off this mark if luck falls its way.
TRACKERS - Clondaw Rigger + Garrane.
