Cap Du Nord was an impressive winner tipped by Ian last Saturday and comes out again quickly and had to have an excellent chance. I'm just put off by the fact that it's its 4th race in a little over 7 weeks and against a few certainly laid out for this race that just puts me off. It was clearly 4th rated of my selections though, so not lightly discarded.

 

Saint Calvados and Frodon are 2 of 3 Nicholls runners, old Frodon owes no one anything and it wouldn't be a surprise to see if round the home turn in front and see them all off but again its the miles on the clock and number of runs already that just put me off especially as PFN has said he should maybe of waited for today and not run last time at Cheltenham. Saint Calvados hasn't quite fired yet this season and quite simply I fancied four horses more than this one in my final analysis.

 

The likes of Clondaw Castle who may just still need this run, Bobhopeornohope who is in the Tracker and upped in Class and who could also run a big race, and the pair of Killers (Kane and Clown) who all have excellent Course form and are upped in Class are certainly not lightly discounted either.

 

However, three stand out for me and in order of preference they are, FLEGMATIK who is a Course and Distance winner for the Skeltons off a mark of 130, certainly form suggests it's a Spring horse, it's not quite Spring but we definitely have Spring ground and off a mark of 135, I think it has a great chance. ANNSAM is a Tracker horse who has been very impressive already and a 5lbs penalty for an excellent Course and Distance win seems a shade generous to me. Finally OUR POWER who has an Ascot win off a mark of 136 and who arrives fresh off a mark that looks too good to be true.
