Ludlow 3.55
Ludlow 3.55 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 3 miles (15 run)
With enhanced place Odds here I want to find some value.
Jimmy Bell won last time out off a mark of 90 that it had previously been a runner up off, it gets an 8lbs hike and although the one to beat I want better value.Bellatrix Lestrange is another huge danger also a winner last time out for Henry Daly over Course and Distance, if you want a win saver, I'd favour Bellatrix and would not put you off.
There are a few who could outrun bigger odds, North Hill (at 20/1 with odds to 5th with Skybet cracking value) has had 2 runs off a long absence but was a very competent Class 3 hurdler just over 2 years ago and if reviving would hammer these out of sight. May still need a run but if improving again one to follow closely. UrtheonethatI want won this last year, that was off a mark of 94, won again after that off 101 and comes here off 107 after seasonal debut. I think it'll run well but probably a few pounds wrong, be some training performance if it did win again. Notnownever is up significantly in trip for Tom Weston but one to watch to see how far it gets for future reference in terms of optimum trip. Kabrit is interesting too for Ali Ralph but this ex Flat racer does not look a tailor made 3 mile winner, another it'll be interesting to watch for the future.
I confidently think though that the best handicapped horse in the race is AVANTGARDIST for Henry Oliver. It needed seasonal debut but ran well to the point where it took a good blow. With a last win mark of 101 and a place mark since off 105, todays mark of 99 with the very competent Lee Edwards booked looks too good to ignore. Be very disappointing if it's not placed at least.
TIP - Avantgardist (win saver Bellatrix Lestrange @ 11/4) - consider North Hill at 20/1 with SkyBet odds to 5th guaranteed / 25/1 elsewhere to 4th
