I think that a low to middle draw will be mildly advantageous here as will a prominent running style.

 

At the head of the market are Samburu drawn 7 for the Gosdens who really could be anything but whose actual form at this trip and these conditions is hard to quantify. The Williams Haggas trained MONTASSIB however drawn in Stall 6 is progressive, still unexposed and had form figures of 1-1-1 until running far better than the final position suggested when meeting bad luck in running at Royal Ascot last time out. Of the pair I think MONTASSIB is well worth an investment today.

 

Jumby drawn in Stall 5 is a likely pace angle for Eve Johnson-Houghton and one who came very close to an investment, I just feel however that it'll set the race up for others and get swamped close to the line. Star Of Orion, Vafortino and Ropey Guest all hold good form claims and bold runs would be no surprise but I do think high draws do them no favours here.

 

Rhoscolyn for David O'Meara is a very solid and consistent horse and deserves a mention in Stall 12 and Cruyff Turn and Persuasion at big Odds strike me as a pair who could outrun those Odds and of those pair I'll make CRUYFF TURN an "exchange / small e/w exchange bet as the drop in trip is very interesting.

 

I just left out another Gosden Horse in Al Rufaa who is another very unexposed could be anything type. Lord Rapscallion would also have merited very strong interest but it ran yesterday here.

 

To join MONTASSIB, I will go for the proven experience of BLESS HIM and ACCIDENTAL AGENT. BLESS HIM has a lovely draw potentially in Stall 3, at 8 years old is exposed but the drop back to 7 furlongs really catches my eye and with luck in running I think he could storm up the Stands rail late on. ACCIDENTAL AGENT is Drawn 13, has top weight but just loves this type of race and ground and I think is overlooked and overpriced.
