Uttoxeter 2.28
Uttoxeter 2.28 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 3 - 2 miles 7 1/2 furlongs - 14 run - Soft
This is a tougher race than the one SIRROBBIE won for us over CD on penultimate run but the horse is a 5 times winner here and a 6lbs penalty may not stop a follow up and with luck in running looks banker each way material.
Come on Teddy for Tom George and Duc De Beauchene for David Pipe can both be big dangers if fit, but may be ones to track and follow after this seasonal debut as both can win races for sure. Jobsonfire is favourite and understandable but at the price I'd hope to find a few to beat it.
Kansas City Chief finished 31 lengths behind Sirrobbie here last time, needed that run though and ran well next time, I'd wager the gap this time would be much closer and he just misses out on a selection but a reserve in case of any non runners and another to follow closely.
I think the one they all have to beat is ASHTOWN LAD a very progressive typical Skelton type and I'll recommend and have a win saver at around 4/1 for this ex P2P horse who looks mightly progressive.
I can't resist a small bet either on last years winner SILVA ESCAPE, it's great to see Danny Cook back in the sadlde and Sue Smith horses starting to warm up. This one will be plenty fit enough on 3rd run back. Won off 122 last year, was winner after that off 124 at Haydock in the mud and 129 here looks within range in perfect conditions.
