THE ADVISOR - Warwick 3.40 Handicap Chase - Class 4 - 3 miles 1 furlong - 12 run - Good to Soft

 

In a race of this nature I'd always be reluctant to back anything to win or below 5/1 so I am happy to take on Shot Boii (Tracker horse) who may struggle on past evidence with a 7lbs penalty and Pilot Show, who is due a win after three runner up efforts but who may just be one that can be beaten when the chips are down.

 

Haldon Hill may still just need the run and the mark looks a little high to me, Samuel Jackson is a stone below its peak and would have been a strong fancy on that sort of form, it's one that you just fear might find a level again and be competitive but I really want to see it finish a race, even distantly, as opposed to flattening off and being pulled up. Friends Don't Ask was a progressive horse back in 2021 before 2 years off and I have added to the TRACKER as it'll be interesting to monitor to see what ability remains.

 

I'm most confident about HEAD AND HEART who has very solid form credentials and for whom the Going may just be soft enough and HEAD ON a Course and Distance winner whose last win was here off a mark of 100, an inconsistent horse with 2 ways of running but David Bass as we've said many times is the sort of jockey to get a horse running freely from the front and jumping for fun. If you wanted a small shrapnel punt then at a price LIGHT FLICKER is another 12 year old who may just revive off today's mark at nice odds.
