Chepstow 2.05

Chepstow 2.05 Handicap Chase - Class 4 (Conditional Jockeys) - 2 miles 7 1/2 furlongs - Heavy

I'm not convinced that either of the pair at the top of the market will really fancy this slog too much so will look beyond them and 4 in particular caught the eye.

Cyclop, who has transferred with David Dennis to the Tom Symons yard is a horse with proven stamina. My only niggle is that best form is right handed but having had a run is certainly a big danger here. Buster Edwards is another that will win Chases, comes here fit and proven at the trip over Hurdles, I just wonder if it's a bit too deep though and the mark doesn't jump out as a well handicapped horse. If those pair run well and win/place, I'll take it on the chin.

SIGN OF WAR was a tip for The Advisor last Monday and ran well enough in a Conditional Hurdle, finishing runner up, to indicate it will strip fitter and be primed for this. Big sister Isobel of the Willams sisters rides for dad Evan and despite a hike in the weights since its last win over fences, I think a strong contender here at its local Track.

BIG MEADOW won this off an identical mark on seasonal debut last season and returns with every chance of following up if fit enough on debut this season. It's a horse that has usually been ready to go and Course and Distance winning form here on this undulating and true test of any horse is always a big plus.

TIP - Sign Of War / Tracker - Big Meadow.
