MICHAEL - Down Royal 3.30 Handicap Chase - 2 miles 4 and 1/2 furlongs - Yielding to Soft 

 

This is a really galloping Track and one of my favourites in the whole of Ireland.

 

St Denis's Well frames the market really, if it runs it'll go off very short and after winning on Saturday gets a 7lbs penalty. With a run it makes both DA BIG FELLA and FINIANS ROW excellent each way value in a race that lacks real depth on face value and detailed analysis.

 

DA BIG FELLA drops in trip, will handle to Going and everything makes it an each way banker, FINIANS ROW has plenty of form that suggest conditions will be ideal and I really hope the favourite does run as I'd back these pair to beat it but obviously they would be better value with St Denis's Well running. If the favourite comes out you may need to consider whether to have a win bet or an each way bet so they are named in preference order.

Of the remainder, the trip may suit Cullenraine and I would not rule out a big run by Land Jet who was just overlooked for some shrapnel. I have added Rocconrockall to the TRACKER after this race based on some decent hurdles form; before going to the P2P fields.

 

A small shrapnel e/w bet is recommended on I DON'T GET IT who just gets the nod over Land Jet, its versatile trip and Going wise and does have a much lower Chase mark to exploit here.
