Exeter 3.10
3.10 Handicap Chase Class 3 - 3 miles and 54 yards (13 run)
It's a very hard race to find anything to fancy in a concrete fashion, yet hard not to rule anything out and not a lot of value in the top 3. Fitness has to be taken on trust with a few but if they are fit look over-priced.
Orchardstown Cross heads the market, I understand why but the 200+ days off at such a skinny price up this relentless hil twice concerns me if they go a decent gallop. For Good Measure and Perfect Candidate clearly have excellent chances and FGM has course and distance (not CD) winning form but I just worry if very soft and in the case of Perfect Candidate who has CD winning form and no ground issues an excellent e/w chance but no value to do so at 11/2. If i had to pick a win saver would be Perfect Candidate.
Of the remainder, Dabcing Shadow off a 203 day break should need this run and again not sure about very soft, Le Boizelo is fit but trip and going concerns, Moving In Style has changed stables, intriguing bit of form but past record indicates may need the run.
So I will give another chance to DELL ARCA has a win at the distance, will certainly be fitter for a blow round Chepstow recently and despite top weight off a manageable handicap mark and the price is my real "way in"
At big Odds and whilst you have to take fitness on trust, IF it is a real slog and it can get "a blow in" and second wind, its not inconceivable that the stamina laden, mud loving REGAL FLOW can plug on up the hill past tired horses and grab a place.
TIP - DELL ARCA / TRACKER - REGAL FLOW @ 16/1 (win saver / tricast Perfect Candidate)
