MICHAEL - Limerick 2.45 - Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 5 furlongs - 14 run - Heavy

 

I'm happy to take on Shotgun Jack, very impressive win last time and upped a stone who could be anything but this quirky track where they literally go up hill and down dale can benefit horses with some Course experience.

 

I am concerned enough about the handicap marks of both Great Island and Happy Dreams to take them on in the mud, the trip and mark are a bit of a niggle for Vintage Gold, clearly all 3 of those are real dangers but a few interest me far more. I would not put anyone off a small late bet though on 1st reserve Kilashee, if it sneaks into the race before the cut off.

 

I'm very keen though on COSMIC ROCK 5th on return off a 2 year break and provided it doesn't bounce it had some very solid course form here a couple of years ago and could be one to follow in the coming months.. MY FRIEND THE WIND is back over hurdles, has an engine and plenty of ability, it won its last hurdle race off a mark of 92, so arriving here off a mark of 97, looks very solid and may be overlooked e/w punt. One who the market may also have underestimated significantly if you want a shrapnel bet to enhanced places is ANOTHER OCANA whose best runs under Rules have been here and who has some nice P2P form, a nice handicap mark augmented by a 5lbs Claim, and plenty of past form at the trip and in the mud!
