MICHAEL - Listowel 3.10 Mares Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 4 furlongs - 18 run - Good (rain about 3mm forecast)

 

The Going here is important as a number of good ground types would not want too much rain as it can get very tacky and this almost Oval left handed Course does suit a prominent run style, so important to check for some form in Yielding to Soft as well as good ground.

 

Good As Hell heads the market and is better known as a very decent Chaser, runs and wins off marks of around 125-126 over Jumps, she has had some success in the past over Hurdles and her hurdles mark of 106 here would not put her out of it by any means but the transition back to the smaller fences might, so whilst being a big danger, not for me today.

 

The mark and trip are concerns for the otherwise in form Rathnaleen Kal, Buttons And Bows would be a risk with any small amount of deterioration in the ground, Emily in Paris has form figures of 2-2-2-1-1-3 and has stepped from a mark of 92 up to 103 here, whilst clearly in fine fettle, most of those wins and places have been over further and her hold up style might not suit here unless they all go off at a suicidal early pace. 

 

At bigger odds I looked at Fizzle Rock and Glendars Mahler and both could outrun Odds, Cash The Cheque would have a squeak at big odds but ran yesterday and if withdrawn early enough the first reserve Artemis Angel would have a small e/w chance, both of those are in the Tracker, so worth a look but not in the main tips list today. 

 

I'm most confident about a couple from big Yards who are chosen more on merit as opposed to Connections but being with Elliott and De Bromhead isn't a negative for sure.

 

SEA  ASTER  was an impressive winner last time out, the slight drop in trip would be a positive and not a negative and any rain would not be negative either, ATIMETODREAM has had 4 runs including an excellent placed run on Soft Going and looks ready to win off this sort of mark and a nice handicapper in the making.

 

At bigger Odds for some shrapnel with some guaranteed enhanced places I like the profile of NO FUSSING who has a win at 2 miles 5 furlongs and form on soft ground and PHILS CHOICE who ran runner up last time and repeat of that would put her bang in contention here for the Rothwell yard.
