Sedgefield 3.07
MICHAEL - Sedgefield 3.07 Handicap Chase - Class 5 - 3 miles 1 and 1/2 furlongs - Good to Soft
A moderate race where I think there may be a specific bit of each way value.
Sigurd and Lord Brendy are both horses that I want to track and follow as both usually need a run but look the types to pick up prizes at this lowly Grade once fully fit and the SP2A Trackers are filling up nicely for the crucial Christmas and New Year period.
At the top of the market, I fear Bobmahley but would have some concerns about stamina, the same applies to Event Of Sivola who steps up well over 1/2 a mile in trip, if either of those prove to have the heart and stamina to win, something I'm happy to accept. For Jim has proven 3 mile form and an excellent win ratio at it, but a lot to take on trust about well-being after last run and at the odds I will rather watch as see what happens.
A couple at bigger odds who could surprise are 13 year old Burning Issues for Sue Smith, a Course and Distance winner three times, recent winner off 78 but you'd think one who'd need the race to fall into it's lap. Worth a small shrapnel bet and definitely tricast material, and another at big odds I think could outrun them is KING GOLAN. Good ground, which it should be on a dry day and Going not worse than Good to Soft is important but one that can pop up for local connections at big prices from time to time.
The stand out one for me though is Oliver Greenalls ECOSSAIS dropped markedly in Class here, fit and likely to be primed now and the booking of Ross Turner does nothing to diminish confidence.
TIP - ECOSSAIS - Tracker - King Golan
