Southwell 12.10 GO ON GAL - Is a horse whose best runs and sole wins have been here on Sand, back in to Grade 6, and will be fitter for recent spin in a Grade 5 when running well for a long way. The Course form shows wins off marks of 50 and 53 with Trainers daughter Shelly Birkett the regular pilot when available, so a mark today of 53, less her 3 lbs Claim is very appealing. It strikes me that the Class 5 run was precisely to get the horse down to this mark and back in right Grade should be a real danger here. I was looking for around 7/1 and so far the market looks about right.
