A few old favourites in here and a couple are in the Tracker after promising recent runs when tipped or positively mentioned.

 

Clonmel is one of those Course that does suit specialists, a very tough climb in to the back straight and then a long downhill section and many can be in trouble getting to the top of the hill and then some expend too much energy going down it and with a long run from the third last to the second last, it's important to have something in the tank but not to be too far behind.

 

Lessofdnegativity has won or placed on all recent starts when it's completed the race but its Course form is not great and at the price on that basis I want to take it on. SEANGOELL was 3rd here over 2 miles early in January, looks ready to strike and this trip should be ideal as it has won over further. It seems to me the one they all have to beat and I will invest accordingly.

 

In the Tracker are ENDURING LOVE and Be My Dream. Both of Enduring Loves wins have been in Heavy Going off marks of 85 and 87 and at 2 miles 5 furlongs and 3 miles, so he has proven stamina and I don't thin anything is going to get taken off its feet here over slightly shorter in these conditions. It runs off 84 and has a cracking each way chance. I'll leave Be My Dreams though for another day, it ran poorly over Hurdles last time, it's Chase credentials though are good and we tracked it after a promising runner up effort at Punchestown on soft Going in early January. It's never really shined here and the undulating nature of the Course may not play to its strengths.

 

QUARRY GIRL is a progrssive type and improving with experience, the trip and Going hold no fears and it should be placing at least based on recent form.

 

Bitview Colin a Course winner over 2 miles and who may be best seen over shorter trips as we have mentioned; and Thedancingfarrier who will be at home at the trip and in the mud but who seems to save its best for Cork will be genuine dangers and can't be discounted and Nicoles Milan is worth a note too, it ran well last time over hurdles and it's last Chase run was here in March last year over 3 miles when it won off a mark of 86. It runs off 98 today and I think a few pounds too high and also probably needs 3 miles more than most of these.

 

At bigger odds I won't be totally surprised if Killisk Ben who is out of form but who gets ideal conditions off a reducing mark fires at some some point, and it would be worth having some shrapnel today I think on WEST IS BEST who is a Course winner over 2 miles and 7 furlongs in Heavy conditions in March last year off a mark of 92, gets first time Blinkers to freshen him up and who could stay on past beaten horses and nick a place off an appealing mark of 95 with a handy 7 lbs claimed.
