SEAN - Fairyhouse 3.50 - Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 4 furlongs - 16 run - Heavy (Inner Track)

 

Important to note that this is run on the very tight Inner Hurdles track and that definitely suits those with a more prominent running style.

 

At the head of the market we have The Big Cloud who is due a win but who doesn't seem to find too much in a battle at the end of his races and Gold Haven who looks to have very strong credentials but who may just be on the edge of his stamina if this is a truly run race despite the Inner track suiting it. I'm loath to take them on BUT I don't think either is bombproof.

 

The race isn't particularly deep and indeed with a run a couple of the reserves Golden Symphony and Aohdan May would not be out of it. At the top end of the market outside of the top pair the dangers include Junot who as an ex Flat horse may struggle in the ground, Hillsdale is a potential improver and not lightly discounted but will need to smarten and tighten up its jumping on a Course where any loss of momentum can be difficult to regain. Lilys Choice at a big price is an ex Mullins horse who has disappointed so far but may fire at some point.

 

I'm most confident in RUSHEEN and LILIAN BLAND taking this race from the pair of market leaders. RUSHEEN ran an eye catching race last time and is improving steadily a repeat of that run would take it very close, LILIAN BLAND is a front runner who runs with her heart on her sleeve, although probably finding this on the short side if she jumps out and dictates from the front she may take a lot of catching.

 

With 16 declared and 3 reserves there will be enhanced places and I think that both SHEAN GLORY who lurks on a very nice mark and who should get the trip round here and LEGACY OF DREAMS who is a nice dual purpose horse who may need further but who is on an eye catching mark are well worth a shrapnel e/w punt at the enhanced places. For the £1 e/w brigade at big odds then take a long look at Mrs Watson another prominent runner whose mark has sidden down to a level below she has won off , at an appealing 50/1!
