The top pair in the market here are very short in terms of actual form and whilst I definitely want to take them on with places to 5th on Offer, I wouldn't put you off a small reverse forecast to cover them off.

 

There are some moderate types here and some unproven at the trip but the way the market is set up does offer some possible each way value.

 

Lady McCabe is a decent Chaser, they switch to Hurdles off a decent mark in terms of chase form but the earlier Hurdles form of this horse doesn't really entice me in and I think it's more a fitness run in preparation for something over fences in the near future. Dr Val has some decent form lines over shorter trip but you'd have to take stamina on trust and there are a few with proven stamina that I think are better value. From This Moment has some decent 3 mile P2P form, is upped in trip and one I will TRACK forwards after today. I feel the same about Fainche who has shown glimmers of form that suggest this trip stretches it so I will add to my Tracker and will be especially keen if they drop to 2 miles 6 furlong type trips.  

 

The 3 I'm most keen on are COURTING VICKIE, BETTERASK JJ and MICKEY SHEA

 

COURTING VICKIE has threatened a few times over this sort of trip and it's best runs are at 3 miles, it runs off a nice mark and is race fit and really I feel this represents its best chance of some place money in a fair while. BETTERASK JJ has not run too many good races but it's bst runs have been at around this time of the year and looking at a runner up effort in November 2020 and a win last November at 3 miles and 2 miles 5 furlongs respectively, both off a mark of 80, with a run today off a mark of 81, really caught my eye and worth an investment on that basis. MICKEY SHEA is very lightly raced and has yet to deliver on potential clearly due to some sort of fragility. However, it's had a run already and there are signs of genuine ability there and in a race lacking depth is another that I think could take advantage and nick an enhanced place.

 

The mind has to reconcile sometimes that you're aiming for 3rd and 4th (possibly 5th) but the each way prices against a pair who I do think are too short based on actual results makes it all the more interesting.
