I started off with proven form at the trip and the likes of Myesteree; Dawson City; Carrighdoun; Harry The Viking all merited close inspection. Of those Mysteree might be the most likely to "pop up" as was outstanding in Spring of 2017 and only lightly raced and possibly in grip of the Handicapper since. Is back down to the precise mark of its last win 133, and of the outsiders the one I most fear. Total Assets is a favourite of ours, we really had a right coup on this one back in February when it was just mugged by Mac and Cheese on the finishing line, but not sure about 10lbs rise here despite excellent win last time out and Aubisson is a dark horse who I have long tracked. If you want a small wager outside of the selections of an extra one for the Tricast Perm I'm suggesting it would be MYSTEREE. I would also fear most DAWSON CITY who has excellent collateral form.
On to the tips and a mention - the mention is DANCING SHADOW has won at this trip, largely kept to shorter since and that indicates a canny approach as does a recent wind operation. Ran well for a long way on seasonal return and could pop up here at a decent price. The tips are towards the top of the market and I think that reflect the Conditions as much as anything. They are likely to go a decent gallop and not really deep enough for an out and out plodder like Scotswell or Carrighdoun so I will side with LOOKING WELL, who was desperately unlucky to lose a similar race at Musselburgh earlier this year when veering out at the last, we benefited that day as we were on eventual winner Full Jack, those things happen when you are in outstanding form as we were at the time, but I have followed LOOKING WELL since and this looks a great opportunity to me. WEST OF THE EDGE is 5/1 favourite and simply ticks every box here for a Trainer who is as good as anyone at preparing a horse for a race like this and with a great chance of another big prize in staying Chases.
