It's a classic Mullins v Elliott here but I really do think the interloper in the room tonight is Henry De Bromhead!

 

At the head of the market is Ilikewhatyorthinkin who looks the one to beat but at skinny odds I'll oppose it. Hurricane Georgie and Recite A Prayer who is a very in form horse have obvious chances but neither entice me into an investment. 

 

The Big Lense who won this in 2021 has always been a streaky character in terms of form and rates a danger back here and more so probably because it seems out of form, Bacardys may be better over Hurdles but is clearly talented and Fairyhill Run, and Augusta Gold may just need the run I feel. Freewheelin Dylan won this race in 2020 and the Irish National in 2021 but I think really needs to be about 10lbs lower in the handicap at the moment.

 

I really like BIRCHDALE who had a Course sighter over shorter, should love the conditions and clearly has some untapped potential evidenced in the P2P fields. 

 

De Bromhead runs FULLY CHARGED whose prominent style of running suggests a bold run IF it gets in, BOLD ENOUGH is upped in trip and interesting too on some P2P form and I do wonder if he or KAPARD, upped in trip and in weight may be sacrificed for the Reserve more likely KAPARD. Of the stables runners, Rachel Blackmore has chosen POPONG and I think that's a tip in itself.

 

So I'll go with POPONG and BIRCHDALE and have a smaller bet on Bold Eagle and Kapard BUT if any of those are non runners then switch to the reserve and  De Bromheads other Runner FULLY CHARGED.
