Leopardstown 12.10 Handicap Chase - 2 miles 5 furlongs (17 run)

 

The more I looked at this race more I was drawn to those at longer odds. Indeed the "rag" of the race Colms Dream was well placed in a 53K race here in 2018 off 140 and won a 22k race over Course and Distance off 125 and still only a 10 year old and a massive run at huge odds would be no surprise and may be worth a bit of loose change.

 

If you go to the head of the market Shanroe AC looks solid but I'm not sure about it off this mark and the Ted Walsh trained ROXBOROUGH ROAD who slipped up when in contention last time looked to be running in to form and at around 11/2 looks the closest you'll get to an each way banker in a tricky opener.

 

The Tracker value could come from the likes of Fiveaftermidnight and Mindsmadeup both of whom look over-priced but I will have a smaller Tracker stake on a pair who ran against Shanroe AC last time, both in close contention with that horse but at much bigger Odds than Shanroe AC here, a bit inexplicably!

 

PERSIAN WIND ran well in that race despite a few niggly errors, knows how to win and should again finish close to the market leader and FINAL LIST very much one of the lesser types in the huge Elliott operation is one of a few from the Yard in this race but shaped with more promise last time and could be one who is ready to take another step forwards. 

 

17 runners and enhanced place Odds are the way in to this as the chosen race and be happy with a nice net profit on the race.
