Limerick - Tuesday 22nd November

SEAN - Limerick 2.45 Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 5 furlongs - 14 run - Soft

They run on the Inner Track here, much tighter than the more sweeping Main Track but still with a steep climb down the back straight and a downhill run into the home turn and then a more gentle climb up to the line. It's a track that suits specialists and hopefully we can unearth a few.

HAND OVER FIST is in the Tracker and also a worthy favourite after an impressive run last time on handicap debut , which underlined some gentle progression that we had been tracking for a while. I'd recommend an investment on this one again to win or if you want to be conservative as an each-way banker.

Earth's Furies who has been Chasing but who has Course form on the main Track will be a danger, Positive Thinker makes it's handicap debut and has shown promise in all 4 runs and will be a serious opponent too. Huit Reflets will come on for a recent run that also showed promise and it'll be interesting to see if it adapts to the Track on its Course debut. Tomjackwilliam who is first reserve would be a danger if getting a run.

Lily of Dromard is in the Tracker (see below), it can win races but I'm still not sure about the best trip for this one and its still 9lbs above its last winning mark, so we'll watch closely today. Little Token may just need the run but is a solid and consistent type who we'll ADD to the TRACKER from today. Another we'll Track is Moon Eagle, this one quickly went Chasing by-passing Handicap Hurdles, it finally steps in to this sphere today from a dangerous Yard.

Aside from the favourite the three that I most liked in order of preference are LAKE CHAD, SAINT BERNADETTE and COCONUT TUDOR.

LAKE CHAD had a Course win at 2 miles on this Card last year off a mark of 95, it definitely gets this trip and went on to win over Chase fences too at this trip off a Chase mark of 112. It showed real signs of coming to hand last time and on its 3rd run of the season off a reduced Handicap Hurdle mark of 96 looks primed to do some damage.

SAINT BERNADETTE steps back in trip and gets 3 miles including here and will be doing all its best work late on. The soft Going should ensure it doesn't get outpaced and it can really start to make inroads on the back straight final time around here. I'm equally keen too on COCONUT TUDOR at a big price. Its best runs have been here on both the Inner and main Tracks off a similar mark and I think it's a bit overlooked by the market on that basis.

TIP - Hand Over Fist / Tracker - Lake Chad / shrapnel - Saint Bernadette + Coconut Tudor

SEAN - Limerick 3.15 Han - 3 miles 1/2 furlong - 14 run - Soft Handicap Hurdle

I can't see as much at bigger prices in this one but must point out the first reserve BETTERASK JJ who has been runner up in similar level on this Course off a mark of 80 in 2020 and who won off a similar mark at Punchestown last year. I'd recommend a shrapnel bet WITH a run.

Da Big Fella who won at Killarney last season off 85 and was 3rd in this corresponding race off a mark of 90 may just need this run off a 3 month break but will be a danger. Wild Caprice has placed a few times but all over shorter trips than this, Well Poly is in the Tracker (see below) has won at the trip off a mark of 80 at Roscommon and placed off 89 at Clonmel, it runs off a mark of 88 but I have real concerns about Soft ground which may get softer so I'll watch today and hope that it doesn't pop up at a nice price.
Kilgorey who started with a 3 mile P2P win in 2019 is finally upped to that sort of trip under Rules and would be a danger if finding some form, Mahler Appeal has a favourites chance and is another in the Tracker but the runner up effort last time may be doesn't stack up as well as the form if PROBLEM SOLVER.

PROBLEM SOLVER improved for the step up in trip to win nicely last time off a mark of 88, it's been placed on this Track over shorter off a mark of 90 and I thin a mark of 94 is possibly quite lenient.

I really like the look of COSTALLITA and another Tracker horse in ESTHERS MARVEL at bigger Odds. COSTALLITA ran well in the Spring off marks of 81 and 82, needed a recent return run and quietly impressed in that and P J Rothwell may have this one fully primed today off a mark of 80. ESTHERS MARVEL has been Chasing and was put in the Tracker for promise over fences but the return to Hurdles off 82 is eye catching when you look back at a nice 4th place on it's last Hurdle run here off a mark of 90.

TIP - Problem Solver / TRACKER - Esthers Marvel / Shrapnel - Costallita + Betterask JJ (with a run)
