Limerick 3.20
SEAN - Limerick 3.20 Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles 1/2 furlong - 14 run - Heavy
I would agree entirely with Michael regarding Course specialists and proven form here and it needs a smart jockey to give the horse a breather at the top of the hill up the back and not commit too soon on the turn back up the rising ground.
Ballydangan is knocking at the door but the trip in heavy is a definite niggle for me, a dangerous type though. Kingston Kid is back hurdling and they put on some blinkers, it's running off top weight but will be a danger if clicking. Cosmo Renfro made a promising repapearance but the trip really concerns me. This trip could also stretch Meehall but he's another who could be winning soon over slightly shorter trips.
I'm most keen on WELL POLY, she won this race last year off 4lbs higher, has had 2 nice prep runs, she had 3 last year but that doesn't concern me, a mare who clearly comes to hand around now and i'll be very disappointed if she doesn't put in a massive effort to win the race again at a nice e/w price. The main fly in the ointment might be Elliotts WHAT AN OSCAR, I've had this one Tracking waiting for it to be upped to 3 miles for a fair while, just a bit frustrating it's in this race but these pair are well clear in my analysis.
IF there is one who could nick an enhanced place at bigger odds it might be old CAPTAIN JIMMY, a horse who is very good when on A game and looks about ready to run one of those better races here and definitely has the engine and ability to run a place at least. IF not obliging today, it's one of those who you just know is ready to pop!
Tips (1) Well Poly / (2) What An Oscar / (3s) Captain Jimmy
