Newbury 3.35
Newbury 3.35 Handicap Hurdle - Class 2 - 3 miles 1/2 furlong - Good - 13 run
HILL SIXTEEN created a real impression last time on debut for Nigel Twiston-Davies, the market thinks it's thrown in here, it you want a win saver at 7/4, grab it. I'd simply point out that the win was over fences, over much shorter, and that all the horses best runs have been in softer Going than this!
So, let's look for some market value.
Summer Name for Rebecca Curtis has shown glimmers of promise. It's great to see the Yard back on the up after a marriage break up looked to have cost a highly promising career, a horse to keep an eye on but still in the "jurys out" category for me. The Alan King pair both have questions to answer. King has some cracking back form at this Meeting and also the one at Doncaster and always to be feared.
Nevilles Cross seems to be in the grip of the handicapper after an early season pair of wins and Dell Arca gets a penalty after 2 great wins, the renaissance of that horse proof of just what a stellar time the Pipe yard are having. Dell Arca gaining a treble here is not out of the question by any means at all.
Shamburu Shiyaa may need the run and a mark below 130 and The Cashel Man needs to revive markedly, but this is Henderson and this is his local Track and if he could find some elixir, potion or dare I say syringe to impart some of the old sparkle, a dangerously handicapped horse!
My idea of value though is I K BRUNEL who has been bought along steadily by Olly Murphy. Unexposed, proven at the trip, no issues with the Going, race fit and may have upscope off this handicap mark and I'm confident enough to have a small wager.
