Newmarket 3.00

Newmarket 3.00 Class 2 - Handicap - 1 mile 6 furlongs - Good to Firm - 16 run

A competitive race and one where collateral Royal Ascot form will be tested to the full.

AMTIYAZ for the Gosdens just prevailed there and will again be well fancied as a progressive 4 year old should be, in third that day was GLOBAL STORM who gets 2 lbs for a 1 and 1/4 length defeat and who logically therefore may just be better handicapped. It depends which one of those can progress a little more than the other since.

Closely handicapped with them is LOSTWITHIEL whose best form is in smaller fields where may be the race is run at a false pace, nonetheless a nice each way price for that one. Arthurian Fable ties in too but I'm not 100% convinced this one is good value or frankly good enough.

Of those I narrowly prefer GLOBAL STORM and think Lostwithiel may be good punting value.

HOCHFIELD ran a stormer for us last time, clearly in form and like all from the stable never can be discounted, I just think this trip in this field though is on the sharp side now and I'll wait for Glorious Goodwood but a danger as always. The one I'll take from that Newcastle race is RAJINSKY who has very solid credentials and with proven ability at the trip and further and on a very nice handicap mark, the one who ticks the most boxes.
