Punchestown - Sunday 20th November
SEAN - Punchestown
12.55 Handicap Chase - 2 miles 6 + 1/2 Furlongs - 15 run - Soft
Secret She Keeps is a strong and worthy favourite for Henry De Bromhead and Rachel Blackmore and I wouldn't put you off a win saver at anything around 3/1.
Faklera for Elliott (who has others I'm more interested in), Majavango (who may have been an unlucky faller last time) and Wa Wa are being well supported as unexposed types but there are a few with significant previous, if exposed form, who seem out of form but who could be very well handicapped here IF reviving.
Friendly Star has some French form that looks quite interesting and may be a danger, It Could be You whose last winning mark was off 109 could be competitive off a mark of 115, but there are 3 others that really caught my eye.
FALCO BLITZ is a crazy price when you look at some of its UK form with Nicky Henderson, it was going well enough when unseating last time and I'll be disappointed if its not in the first 5-6 home in this race.
Elliott runs GLENLOE and DUNBOYNE and both warrant close examination. DUNBOYNE has yet to really take to fencs but had a much higher hurdle rating and has actually won and jumped round a 3 mile P2P field as a younger horse. It only needs the jumping to click over Fences and it'll be a seriously well handicapped horse. GLENLOE gets much further than this and it may be a confidence run after a Pulled Up and an unfortunate UR when the saddle slipped. If they go a fair lick up front and the horse gets in to a nice rhythm, nothing will be coming home better.
It's an intriguing race and I'll side with the exposed but clearly very interesting past form.

3.15 Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles - 16 run - Soft
I think the one they all have to beat here is COVENTRY and I'll have a recommend a 2 point win bet (have 1 point e/w if you can get 9/2 or better and want an e/w banker)
Captain Corby is upped in trip and will be a danger if getting home over the 3 miles, Shewearsitwell runs for Willie mullins but has struggled to get home over shorter than this so can only be watched, My Immortal probably needed its seasonal debut and is another dangerous one but is 10lbs above its winning mark, Jaycean is in the TRACKER but has done little since an impressive Novice debut and is more of a long term project.
I'm more keen on another Tracker horse in ROBINSTOWN who won well on debut for it's new Trainer and on seasonal debut and based on form with Elliott a 7lbs penalty does not seem excessive. I just prefer it to SASSY BUT CLASSY who won this last year off a mark of 123 and then won again off 131, it has had a run in a Chase and only a mark of 135, which I think they may want to nudge down puts me off today.
One I cannot resist at the early prices is FLOUEUR who could be thrown in off this Hurdle mark and who has been far more highly tried than this and if refinding any of it's old ability would be a serious contender.
TIP - Coventry / TRACKER - Robinstown / shrapnel - Floueur
