Punchestown Tuesday 29th November
SEAN - Punchestown
There are a couple of competitive Handicaps on Yielding ground with some soft patches but basically a dry day so I envisage pretty dead ground.
I'll focus more on the ones we're interested in and others who can be Tracked forwards and any in the Tracker for today who I have discarded and reasons why.
12.15 Handicap Chase - 3 miles 1 and 1/2 furlongs - 14 run
At the top of the market I think that Merry Moves and Sanibel Island have favourites chances but Sanibel Islands mark has moved up and it comes off a break whilst Merry Moves is up 3lbs for an excellent Chase debut and could now progress. If you want a win saver I'd go for Merry Moves and I wouldn't put you off a forecast either.
Glen Ava had a decent record over in the UK and is now back with its original Irish yard, Lady McCabe strikes me as needing a bit of help now from the handicapper and both Three Loud Knocks and Laughing tRix have done well for me in the past but I think LT is better over Hurdles and TLK may be best watched until running at Clonmel.
My 3 against the field here are; EXCITING OSCAR who needed a recent seasonal debut run, is on a nice Chase handicap mark and who looks solid e/w material. SPANCIL HILL is in the Tracker it's also had a run and will be helped by that and another who is on a competitive handicap mark and a very nice e/w price, finally I can't resist a small investment in TRICKY TRIX who has worked its way down to a nice mark now, has also had a run and who should be competitive in this field off this sort mark if retaining ability.

3.25 Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 5 and 1/2 furlongs - 22 run -
A bigger field here and some who'll benefit from the run like Imperial Kate; Tango Theatre, and Indescent, some with promise on Handicap debut like Verdant Place, some upped in trip like Breezy Bell (who I've added to the TRACKER) ; and the likes of Sean Says who may need further and a lower mark, Cher Why Not who probably needs further but who could be a danger staying on late on, and then at the head of the market, Penny Jar who may not like the Going and Clear The Clouds who looks the one to beat but whose price just looks too skinny for me.
One in the Tracker at very big odds is Scalino and although out of form, I will have a couple of Euros each way on it as there is ability there and it's the type to pop up at some point.
My three though; against the field are ones I'm quietly confident about.
You can never rule out the admirably consistent GLENABO BRIDGE, it likes the Track, in decent form and sure to run its race as always. BENTHAM caught my eye and is slowly getting some help from the handicapper, its weighted about right in ideal conditions and you can never ignore this type from the Cromwell yard. SIBERIAN STAR is in the Tracker and I think has a sporting chance here off a mark of 97 in its preferred Yielding ground. I don't think Danny The fence has much of a chance today despite being in the Tracker on his handicap debut and the other danger I just left out is Alfieri.
