Sligo 4.50

Sligo 4.50 Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles 1 and 1/2 furlongs - Good (some rain about) - 14 run

I'm not overly keen on the top 4-5 in the market with particular stamina concerns about all of them and some Going concerns too if any of the expected showers materialise in any regularity as it can quickly get into the ground at this venue. They are on the turn a lot and it's not a track where it's easy to get a blow into your horse and freewheel and you always have to be watchful of something slipping the field off the front.

For that reason I will by-pass Stamp Your Feet, New Society, New Ross; Ennemi Public and whilst first reserve Swiss Brid is being well backed, that may be best noted and a small punt before the Off IF it gets in.

Of the remainder, The Caddy Rose is a danger based on better Chase form, not 100% sure it's hurdle mark is as good as it looks though nor that this Hurdle track, which is very tight, will suit it. Warreedy is a big danger on some form, having won 3 times in 2020 off marks of 71 over fences and 81 and 86 over Hurdles, it remains to be seen though whether the handicapper has the horse in a vice now off a mark of 97. Brooks Falls is one of three with Course winning form, but i've serious stamina concerns over a trip north of 3 miles.

So I will play the proven Course form at nice each way prices on PUMP ROAD, a winner over 3 miles when Yielding in 2019 here off a mark of 100, runs off a mark of 99 and with best 2 career runs and wins here could revive back on a track it clear likes. The other one is HELLO PILGRIM with Rachel up for Colin Bowe. A Course winner of a Maiden Hurdle in 2019, subsequently won a Limerick Handicap off a mark of 99, placed since of marks of 106 and 109 and therefore today's mark of 111 looks within it's scope and it's always an asset to have a great jockey in the saddle round a track like this where you have to have tactical awareness at all times.
