Thurles 2.10

THURLES 2.10 Handicap Chase - 2 miles 5 and 1/2 furlongs - 10 run - Yielding to Soft

A competitive little race for a dabble and on a Track with usually excellent drainage.

At the head of the market Gallyhill for Elliott has won well over just shorter on Good ground and a runner up at 2 miles, a markof 129 looks fair enough and at short odds is frankly the one they all have to beat. I'm not suggesting a win saver though at less than 2/1, we'll attack the places and I don't think this horse is bomb-proof by any means.

Galon De Vauzelle has placed a couple of times off marks just over 100, runs off 104, the price is skinny and it has a good chance but no more. Broomfields Jeremy makes handicap debut and also looks skinny price wise although I suspect it may drift a bit.

The value at the top end may lie with the more experienced R'EVELYN TREASURE a recent runner up and a faller last time when challenging and upsides at the last, it wasn't a crushing fall and provided the horse comes out of it OK it looks to have a decent chance of making amends at a nice price off a mark of 122.

Midnight Maestro has become a bit of a Punchestown "Banks" specialist but is back to a winning mark over standard fences and could outrun Odds and would be my third rated but of the remainder I thought the best value was SUPER CITIZEN who has been a victim of some solid if unspectacular efforts which has meant an inflated mark following wins has taken ages to fall, conditions will suit and it's running well enough to think that the mark is now coming in to "win range" and with a 5lbs Claim off a new mark of 109 it is technically below the last win mark of 105. I think this horse will drop sooner of later and pick up a race at a nice price so one to TRACK anyway.
