Thyestes Chase Gowran Park 3.00

Gowran Park 3.00 3 Ucello Conti @6/1 (13/2 PP) / 4 Pleasant Company @ 10/1 (12/1 B365)
(Paddy Power/ SkyBet go odds to 5th so use if possible or Lads/Coral/ BV - who go odds to 4th)

(1 point each way each horse and see below for a suggested Tricast Perm / fuller analysis on 10 Call The Taxi )

A trip of 3 miles and 1 furlong; heavy Going and this is a specialists track, Mullins has won this numerous
times, Elliott never has and throws 6 arrows to Mullins 2, but this race can throw up a "plot" for a smaller yard too; so you
can't simply focus on the powerhouse yards and lets not forget, there are stellar Trainers too with the likes of De Bromhead;

Meade; Harrington to name but 3, who simply don't get the attention that they undoubtedly deserve most of the time.

I will start with the new favourite Out Sam, trained by Elliott; ridden by the rising star James Bowen, OK that's the good bit over;
I may end up "eating my proverbial hat" but 2 small field wins in the UK; a very poor run of form in latter days in UK, no Irish
form of note, and a jockey who I don't think has ever been to Gowran Park, certainly I don't think ridden there?; if it wins I

will "doff the cap before eating it" but 4/1, you are having laugh???

I want something with Course form, big field experience, proven stamina and a nice handicap mark; UCELLO CONTI a placed
horse when we tipped it in this race last year ticks every box. Plenty of 6/1 about; runs off a lower mark than last year with a

7lbs Claimer up and with luck in running and a clear round, hard to see it not BANG in contention.

I think last years winner Champagne West could run far better back here than form since suggests; the mark is back within
range of last year and although the Trainer is not in great form not to be under-estimated. The likes of A Genie In a Bottle and
Call The Taxi look excellent Tricast material and I will include them in a Perm with the 2 selections; only a lack of Course

form kept Call The Taxi from being second pick. I fear Monbeg Notorious but jumping issues just concern me in this field.

If you want to play a 3rd horse in the race with odds to 5th place with Paddy Power then go for CALL THE TAXI.

The second pick is PLEASANT COMPANY, he will give Mullins backers a good run at a nice price; 4th last year, ticks Going;
Course and Distance boxes, needed last run; comes here a few pounds lighter than last year with the irrepressible Paul Townend

up in the saddle in the continued absence of Ruby, I don't see that as a negative at all and looks strong e/w at 10/1.

So a point each on the 2 selections and the Perms for Tricast are A Genie In A Bottle and Call The Taxi; if you want something
very big in the market to cheer round for a bit of shrapnel then look no further than Thunder And Roses highly likely to plug
on close to the Paddy Power 5th placed offer....
