SEAN - Tramore 2.00 - Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 5 furlongs - 16 run - Soft / Heavy

 

It's less than a mile round this tight right handed roller coaster of a Track and important to take a breather when you can. It's not unlike Huntongdon in configuration but obviously with more hills and can suit prominent runners and there are a few Course specialists too.

 

Kiln Time is a worthy favourite after 2 excellent runs off a long break, the price though looks skinny enough to me and with the next pair in the market, Ivane and Buachaillboch both having to conclusively prove stamina in this heavy going, I'm seeking some value. The Going would also be a concern for Cruisin Susan on known evidence despite a Course and Distance Maiden win. At big odds I lingered a fair while over both Wild Caprice for whom Danny Mullins is an interesting booking and some of the form really stacks up well but a real niggle about the ground just put me off but a bold run would not surprise. Lightontheriver was the other one at big odds who may outrun them significantly, some promise at this sort of trip and can run prominently and one to keep an eye on.

 

With 16 runners and 3 reserves we are guaranteed enhanced places and I was left with 4 that carry the most confidence here.

 

ADDED BONUS has something of a track specialist in the saddle, has some interesting form at this sort of trip and looks ready to deliver something more I feel with a bit of a "turn due" feeling. EARLY ARRIVAL is a Course and Distance winner off a mark of 91, gets a tongue tie that has seemed to boost performances in the past, runs off a mark of 92 and overall looks like another one that is due a win.

 

A pair at bigger prices who just got the nod over Wild Caprice and Lightontheriver are SEAN SAYS, a particular favourite of mine, does ideally need further but there is a lot of early pace in this field and always a chance here they will beat each other up at the front and SEAN SAYS is on a very nice hurdle mark and JJ Slevin a very capable jockey tactically. ROBINDEVIDASTAR can also pop up off this sort of mark and at 14-16 /1 looks good value to me with the trip, Going and handicap mark all pointing to a good run.
