Bath - Wednesday 6th July

ROBIN - Bath 5.35 - Handicap - Class 6 - 1 mile 5 furlongs - 13 run - Going - Good

A competitive little race over this specialist track where they are pretty much always on the turn in some way and with a deceptively tough finish.

Tribuna Uffizi is favourite with recent form figures of 1-2-1 up from 48 to 53 and now 58, it' upped in trip and at the very short price is crying out to be taken on I believe.

Devorgilla steps up in tripand has a decent profile but i can't find anything in previous runs or especially the pedigree to suggest the new trip will be a slam dunk in terms of possible improvement. With Pleasure at big odds is a horse who has ability but who very rarely these days sows it.

With the favourite scewing the market a little and offering each way value, there are really 2 standout horses for me in here.

ALKHATTAAF has won and placed the last twice at 12 furlongs, evidence suggests the extra furlong won't be an issue and may actually boost performance a little and if there are any chinks with the favourite 5-6/1 looks teriffic value.

MASTER GREY has placed over Course and Distance off a mark of 60 and off 61 over a longer trip last year. Its run a couple of decent races too this season, finds it hard to get it's head in front but certainly has strong place claims in this field where many are better on the AW or simply poor horses. The Yard is in good form and off a mark of 53 I think it has outstanding place claims at least.

ROBIN - Bath 8.35 Handicap - Class 6 - 1 mile 2 furlongs - 13 Run - Good

I think the one they all have to beat here is MR RUMBALICIOUS for Alan King, an eyecatcher upped to this trip on the AW last time, at around 7/2 I think a great win saver bet.

Plasina and City Escape have very closely matched Course and Distance collateral form from their last few runs but both arrive with penalties of some kind and would not have the scope of the kIng runner. No doubt though both are big dangers but impossible to split.

Janus has been running on the AW but did place here off a mark of 57 back in 2020 and runs off 59 so not to be dismissed as is Accrington Stanley a Course winner but the step up in trip doesn't inspire me with confidence.

At bigger prices the standout one for me is TOO SHY SHY , a Course and Distance winner last time off 49, a penalty of 5lbs seems to have put the market off but it has won off higher marks than 54 in the past and I think compared to City Escape and Plasina looks the  better value.
