Carlisle 2.20
ROBIN - Carlisle 2.20 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 3 - 3 miles 1 furlong - 10 run - Good to Soft (Inspection)
They say "every horse can have it's day" and there is one in here at a huge price that perfectly fits the bill.
PERFECT MAN is the rag of the market but has run well over a considerable time in Class3 and sometimes Class 2 races and is no nag. It's won in soft and heavy at Kelso and Chepstow off marks of 122 and 129, often highly tried, has the benefit of having had a run, which was franked yesterday at Newbury by the winner of that race; and off a mark of 123 brings a fitness advantage and proven stamina. This looks easier than many recent races too.
The analysis and logic is buoyed by the fact that a whole host of runners are on seasonal debut and may need the run. In that category come The Cob, The Delray Monkey; Big bad Bear; Flashjack; Burbank and whilst all have decent form non stand out as being best when fresh.
If we then look at the top 3 in the market - Sultans Pride won well last time but is up 5lbs, Storm Nelson is a Course and Distance winner but has been off for 239 days and Lossiemouth, a facile winner of it's last 2 runs is up 13lbs and also in trip.
So, a speculative 40/1 poke but plenty of analysis and logic if you look deeply enough and go with your gut reaction by ignoring the price and looking at the form.
