Chepstow Saturday 25th February
ROBIN - Chepstow 3.07 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 2 - 2 miles 7 and 1/2 furlongs - 15 run - Going Good
With universal offers to 4th place I will take 3 selections per race and class as if it were 16 runner races given the market value.
It's important to explain that my logic and reasoning here has taken into account that this is the last Qualifying race before the Final of this series!
Plenty have chances on the form book but that knowledge led me to a final 3 who would need to run well today and start to show a bit of their hand they may have been hiding.
The likes of Southfield Harvest who doesn't seem the horse he was, Ballybegg who is wonderfully inconsistent so about whom a win last time is actually a big negative on all known evidence, Top Of The Bill who is very progressive but who may wish to protect a rising mark a little and here for the run, and Operation Manna, The Kniphand and Thanksforyourhelp at the top end of the market, were all considered but ultimately discounted.
BELLS OF PETERBOROUGH really jumped off the page at me so I'd grab early price as it has a good Course and Distance profile, the Going has finally come right for it and I just feel its primed with a capital P. TAKE YOUR TIME is a hell of a price for a Nicholls horse on a Saturday and lightly raced of late but the past Course and Distance winning form is there if you look back and it ran OK in December and a mark of 123 looks too good to ignore and one I feel who will be here to run well and qualify. Finally the Henderson horse SURREY QUEST, it's back Hurdling off an eye catching mark and I can;t think they have come here to do anything but be very competitive.
TIPS - (1) Bells Of Peterborough / (2) Take Your Time / (3) Surrey Quest

ROBIN - Chepstow 4.17 - Handicap Chase - Class 5 - 3 miles 2 furlongs - 14 run - Good
A fair number here in the Tracker but i've left Born In Borris, Tudors Treasure and Taktomenow off the selections on current form.
Cuban Pete for Venetia with form figures of PU / PU / PU will be a serious danger, you'll know what I mean!. Gibberwell and Spotty Dog are being well backed and understandably but I didn't really think great value at the prices. All Star Bert is a big danger but not at the price for me.
It's hard to ignore DYSANIA here on home turf and he is tipped accordingly. WIND TOR is a runner up over Course and Distance off todays mark and had a couple of Exeter wins off 86 and 94, back to 88 and I think primed to run to that sort of mark again. I found it very difficult to split TO BE SURE and Mr Katanga, the latter was an eye catching winner of this race last year but just a Going niggle pushed me to TO BE SURE who is in the tracker and if cheek-pieces just sharpen the horse up its off an excellent mark. Mr Katanga would be a slot in reserve if any non runners.
TIPS - (1) Dysania / (2) Wind Tor / (3) To Be Sure
