Chester 3.25
ROBIN - Chester 3.25 Handicap - Class 2 - 2 miles + 2 furlongs - 16 run - Good to Soft
The draw is always a factor here as is Course form and that sort of narrows options down quite quickly.
The one to beat and worth a win saver IF you want one is ALFRED BOUCHER. It's recent form is 2-2-1-2 its gone from a mark of 93 to 100 and up to 104 today but likes the Course and can't be left out of calculations.
I'm not so sure the prices of Anna Burina and Frankenstella are such good value with their lack of Course form and draws a factor too.
CALL MY BLUFF looks a very solid each way banker betting proposition with some good Course form, clear signs of running in to form last time out and a lovely draw in Stall 3.
Emiyn gets a horrible draw for its style of running and may have to use up too much early speed or sit and suffer and wait for gaps, so I'll have a small stake too on RESHOUN who hasn't yet delivered at the Course but who is in the best form of his career and has proven stamina and another with a lovely draw if he can break on terms and take a decent position just behind the pace.
If there is an improver in the field it may be STAR CALIBER for Andrew Balding who loves attacking handicaps here and this one is an interesting 4 year old who has not been over-exposed as yet, its fresh and looks progressive and whilst stamina is not 100% proven its been running strongly enough over shorter to suggest this trip is both worth exploring and couple open up real opportunities next season.
TIP - Call My Bluff / Trackers - Reshoun + Star Caliber (see notes re Alfred Boucher)
