There has been very little rain around and the going will be Good with a bit of cut, probably not ideal for an out and out summer jumper but neither suited to mudlarks.

 

IN REM is the obvious favourite, winning very impressively at Ffos Llas last time rather unexpectedly, an 8lb hike and a totally different type of track here puts me off at the price but clearly the one they all have to beat and if it drifted in to 4-5/1 range could be worth an each way saver at the Off.

 

There are a number with as yet untapped potential and some from big Yards so it's hard to discount the possibility that the likes of Home Farm House; Just Toby; Dorrana; Red Maple in particular could spring to life and make a mockery of their handicap marks, but I'd prefer to go on known form and more concrete lines of form at this stage of the season.

 

Earl Of Wisdom made a quiet seasonal return for the Tizzards, should come on for that but I feel the price is more based on who trains t than tangible evidence so far. Puzzle Cache on it's second run of the season should improve and could go close here, I feel it needs 3 miles and some rain though so one I will track after today as it has a suitable race in it to win I'm sure.

 

I was drawn to a final 3 and of those the preference is for FREDDY FANATAPAN who is a Course and Distance winner, hosing up impressively off a mark of 95. It's had a run already, gets in a pound below that win mark, they turn to a visor to just sharpen the horse up, an aid that has worked before and it ticks all the boxes for me here. I also think that the step up in trip after a couple of promising 4th place runs at a slightly shorter distance may see GETAWAY CORY go very close to a win and certainly a solid place prospect. 

 

I can't leave without mentioning TACTICAL MANOEUVRE at very long odds who with so many in here yet to actually prove what they can do, looks very over-priced to me, the horse is far better right handed and will enjoy this track far more than recent runs, last 2 wins have been right handed off marks of 96, versatile between 2 and a 1/2 and 3 miles, this is optimum trip therefore and off a mark of 97 with a good 3lbs claimer up after a tube opener recently, could nick an enhanced place at big odds IF some of the unexposed types disappoint, which is entirely possible.
