Hereford 1.07 - Handicap Chase - Class 5 - 3miles 1 furlong - Good to Soft - 17 run

 

A moderate race but plenty competitive enough to get the teeth in to.

 

The top 3 in the market come off decent runs, Trumps Benefit (god forbid!); from the Bowen yard, probably wants better ground than this and something typical of the Yard you can either see it hosing up or pulling up!!, at the Odds, I can't have any confidence in what will happen. Stupid Cupid won nicely last time out, trip here is a bit of a niggle but clearly a danger. Wtitteninthesand is probably the most potentially progressive and untapped horse in the race and has some P2P form at a moderate level and should run better over this trip than it has done under Rules so far, but the market seems to be about right and I can't validate the P2P form as being anything special.

 

There are obvious dangers and of them Hurricanes Arcadio with some solid enough form and a 3 mile P2P background; River of Intrigue, who ran a btter race last time but probably more of a summer ground specialist,and Mr Palmtree, who won off 86 last time after a wind op and has placed course form off a mark in the 70's, may be taxed and in the grip of the handicapper off a mark of 93. I fear all of those as dangers but will hope that none pop up here today.

 

Lets Go Dutchess is fit, in my Trackers but I can't be confident about this trip and Watching Brief would have been of major interest but a none runner, so I'll keep a close eye on that one.

 

I keep coming back to ALBERTOS DREAM who is back to a nice mark having run up a 4 timer at one point, may like it softer but has won on the ground and has as good a chance here as it's had in a fair while and clearly a horse who can win when given a fair chance. The other one is LOVE THE LEADER who is a Course and Distance winner, 2 runs will have primed it to full fitness, last win mark was 90, Course win mark was 94 and still seems good enough to capitalise off a very appealing mark of 91 here.

 

17 run, there will be enhanced place Odds and that's a major consideration so a pair of Tracker bets. The selections "Know how to win" that's a big plus for me, so lets hope for some nice profit!
