Hereford 12.00
Hereford 12.00 MAYBE PLENTY / THE LAST BRIDGE - 1/2 POINT EACH WAY BOTH.
A lot will depend on how much the rain has got in to the ground, if the race was at 3pm I would be basing analysis on soft to heavy, as it is I will work on the assumption that it will be genuinely soft Going and therefore disadvantageous to Good and Good to Soft ground types.
At the head of the market it is clear that GREYED A and ALBERTOS DREAM will be huge dangers; the latter though usually needs a run at least and Greyed A is not bomb proof. I will have a £2 reverse Forecast on those to cover my planned stakes on the 2 selections in the race.
The form of the Phillip Hobbs Yard means that VICTARIAN will also be a real danger to us but the sum parts of his form don't excite me in enough here. Only Gorgeous is sure to come in for support but usually best at Exeter and also does not generally want it too soft and Sonoftheking is another who generally needs a run and also not best of really sloshy Going. We have had enough joy with both of those with big wins in the past to fear them, but if either popped up today, would have to take it on the chin.
The two I most like in terms of some race fitness after seasonal debuts recently; proven on soft or worse and proven beyond any doubt at the trip are MAYBE PLENTY and THE LAST BRIDGE. Maybe Plenty may be better left handed but made a nice return when placed at Warwick, that was second run back after a long lay off and seemed to validate well being. She should come on for that run and she looks worth a punt if she does not "bounce". THE LAST BRIDGE is least fancied by the market but would have needed seasonal debut, has won on soft and heavy over 3 miles at Market Rasen (not dis-similar configuration to here) and also won over 3 miles and 5 furlongs in Heavy at Warwick. If they go off too quickly and this one is ridden to finish it is more than capable of grabbing some place money at nice odds. A mark of 93 is a tad high but those MR wins were off marks of 85 and 91, so not exactly overburdened.
