ROBIN - Hereford 12.50 Hands and Heels Conditional Jockey Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 3 miles 1 and 1/2 furlongs - Good to Soft

 

No whips allowed to be used here and that changes the complex of the race and helps to pinpoint some value.

 

Kentford Mallard won last time out here over Course and Distance on Good to Firm, came from a mile back off a suicidal pace up front given an excellent ride, i think it would be hard to replicate that sort of run in this type of race therefore at the price, I'm happy to take it on. Belles Benefit would just be on the edge of its proven stamina here and again there is little margin at the Odds. I think that the ground may not be Good enough for The Longest Day, Sheila Nash and Valentine Getaway and I'd have stamina concerns about the latter as well. 

 

I would not put anyone off a £1 e/w at big odds on either No Rematch who is back with Evan Williams off a nice mark and has had a run, nor PONTRESINA who ran well for a fair way on seasonal debut before fading late on and who could outrun big odds to nick an enhanced place.

 

My top 2 though are LELANTOS for Nicky Henderson who is in good form, conditions suit and he gets one of the better pilots here and looks pretty solid. I also think that GLOBAL FAMENGLORY for the Skelton team is a lovely kind horse for this type of contest and sure to run its race and give the jockey every chance.
